Exit History: Granular Tracking for Full and Partial Closing Transactions

The Exit History page serves as your central analytical ledger designed to organize trade history filtered to full and partial closing transactions across current and historical positions. Rather than looking at aggregate portfolio totals, this page isolates your exits to give you a complete, transaction-level audit trail of your calculated gains, losses, and capital allocation over time.

Understanding Your Exit History Ledger

Every transaction that fully or partially exits a position is tracked row-by-row. Instead of a basic data list, the table is structured around key metrics designed to give you clarity into your logged transaction history:

  • Trade ID & Type: Each closing transaction is uniquely indexed alongside its position designation (Buy/Long or Sell/Short), making it easy to cross-reference specific logged exits.

  • Symbol, Security Type, & Exchange: Quickly identify the exact asset, asset class (such as stocks, ETFs, or crypto), and the market exchange associated with the imported record.

  • Data Source: Know instantly whether a closing record was imported automatically from your connected brokerages (such as Fidelity or Schwab) or managed manually within your Orizon account.

  • Open Price, Quantity, & Cost Basis: Review the recorded entry price, the specific quantity of shares closed in the transaction, and the total cost basis tied to those units, providing a clear foundation for your performance math.

  • Open Date & Days Open: Displays how long the position was recorded as held before being closed.

    • Note on Brokerage-Synced Trades: Due to data limitations from certain financial institutions, some brokerage-synced trades may occasionally arrive without an open date. When this occurs, both the Open Date and Days Open fields will appear blank. You can easily resolve this by using the Edit Closed Trade menu (...) to manually input the missing open date, instantly enabling duration calculations.

  • Close Price & Total from Close: View the recorded exit price alongside the total calculated value from closing the transaction record.

  • Close Date: Records the exact calendar day your exit was logged.

  • Realized P/L: Displays your final calculated profit or loss from the closed trade record (calculated mathematically as total proceeds minus cost basis), color-coded with visual indicators (Green for positive returns, Red for negative returns, and Grey for break-even outcomes).

Managing Your Exit History

The Exit History table provides operational control depending on how data entered your platform profile:

  • Brokerage-Sourced Trades: Exits imported automatically via Plaid or SnapTrade are read-only to preserve raw data integrity.

  • Manual Entries: For self-managed positions, you retain full operational control. Clicking the horizontal ellipses icon on any manual row opens the Trade Options menu, allowing you to edit or delete the closed entry.

  • Automatic Portfolio Recalculation: If you manually edit or delete a closed trade record, Orizon's system automatically recalculates dependent portfolio metrics to reflect the updated log state.

Highlight: Why Closing Granularity Matters

The Exit History page organizes transaction data by focusing entirely on your full and partial closing entries. By combining transaction-level realized P/L tracking, flexible manual edit options for missing broker data, and automated metric recalculations, Orizon ensures your historical transaction records remain transparent, organized, and under your control.

Note on Data Accuracy: Orizon Analytics is a read-only software utility and does not execute trades, move funds, or hold assets. Dashboard metrics are mathematical calculations based on imported user data. Users should independently verify all calculations and metrics against official brokerage statements before making independent trading decisions elsewhere.
