This article explains how to use the flexible date range selector to filter the data displayed within Orizon Analytics’ Dashboard. The Date Range Selector allows you to focus on specific time periods for more insightful analysis.
Accessing the Date Range Selector
The Selector is positioned at the top-right corner of your dashboard. It will initially show a default date range.
Available Date Range Options
The date range selector offers several convenient predefined options, as well as a calendar for custom selections:
1D (1 Day): This option will automatically filter the data to show information from the previous day to the current day.
5D (5 Days): Selecting this will filter the data for the past five days.
1M (1 Month): This option displays data from the past full month leading up to today.
3M (3 Months): This option displays data from the past three full month leading up to today.
YTD (Year-to-Date): This will filter the data from the beginning of the current calendar year up to today.
Calendar: Choosing "Calendar" will reveal interactive an calendar for you to manually select a specific start and end date.
Using Predefined Date Ranges
To quickly filter your data by a predefined period:
Locate the date range selector.
Select your desired predefined option.
The data will automatically update to reflect the chosen time period.
Selecting a Custom Date Range using the Calendar
For more precise filtering, you can use the calendar to select a specific start and end date:
Locate the date range selector.
Select the "Calendar" option. This will display an interactive calendar to choose the Start and End Dates.
Important: The system will also ensure that you do not select an "End Date" that comes before your selected "Start Date." If you attempt to do so, an error message will appear (e.g., "End Date cannot be before Start Date").
Understanding Date Constraints
Earliest Possible Date: This is the earliest date for which data is available in the system. You will not be able to filter data before this date.
Latest Possible Date: This is always the current date. You cannot filter data for future dates.
Default Date Range
When you initially load your dashboard, the data will be filtered by a default date range, typically set to the last three months, up to the current date.
Time Zone and Date/Time Format
The date range selector is designed to handle time zone considerations automatically. You do not need to manually adjust for different time zones.
All dates displayed and inputted within the selector will adhere to a consistent format.
