At Orizon Analytics, keeping your portfolio accurate and up to date is our top priority. Because different financial markets operate on different schedules, traditional stock exchanges close on weekends, while cryptocurrency markets never sleep, our system uses a smart, automated sync schedule to keep your dashboard current.

This guide explains how and when we update asset prices and market data for stocks, ETFs, mutual funds, and crypto.

1. When Do We Update Asset Prices?

Traditional markets (stocks, ETFs, and mutual funds) follow standard weekday trading hours, whereas crypto assets trade around the clock. To account for this, our system refreshes your asset prices four times a day, every single day:

Eastern Time

Monday – Friday

Saturday – Sunday

9:35 AM

Yes (Stocks, ETFs, Funds, Crypto)

Yes (Crypto Only)

11:45 AM

Yes (Stocks, ETFs, Funds, Crypto)

1:55 PM

4:05 PM

  • Weekdays: The price sync covers your entire portfolio, including stocks, ETFs, mutual funds, and cryptocurrencies.

  • Weekends: Only cryptocurrency prices are refreshed, as traditional stock exchanges are closed.

Where do prices come from?

We source our market quotes and historical prices from reliable providers like EODHD. We securely store this information so your dashboards, performance charts, and risk calculations always rely on consistent, accurate history.

2. How We Track and Categorize Crypto Market Caps

If you hold cryptocurrencies, you might notice them organized into size categories on your allocation charts (Mega Cap, Mid Cap, and Small Cap). To keep these groupings accurate, we refresh crypto market capitalizations (the total global dollar value of a coin) on the exact same four-times-a-day schedule:

Eastern Time

Monday – Friday

Saturday – Sunday

9:35 AM

Yes

11:45 AM

1:55 PM

4:05 PM

Running these updates on weekends ensures that if you link a new crypto holding on a Saturday or Sunday, its market cap is processed immediately, meaning it will appear correctly on your allocation chart over the weekend without making you wait until Monday.

Understanding Crypto Cap Buckets

Coins are sorted into allocation buckets based on their global market capitalization (their total size across the entire worldwide market):

  • Mega Cap: Coins with a global market cap of $10 billion or more.

  • Mid Cap: Coins with a global market cap from $1 billion up to $10 billion.

  • Small Cap: Coins with a global market cap under $1 billion.

A Quick Distinction:

  • Global Market Cap decides which bucket a coin belongs to (Mega, Mid, or Small).

  • Holding Value is simply how much your personal position in that coin is worth in dollars. The chart takes your personal holding values and adds them up inside their respective global size buckets.

Highlight

You don’t have to manually refresh your screens to keep track of your investments. By running automated price and market-cap syncs four times a day, tailored specifically to whether traditional markets or 24/7 crypto networks are open, Orizon ensures your portfolio analytics are always fresh, accurate, and ready when you are.
