This article explains how to use the Portfolio Allocation Table on your dashboard. This detailed table helps you understand the breakdown of your investments across different market Sectors and Industry Groups, providing granular insights into your portfolio's diversification.

Locating Your Portfolio Allocation Table

You'll find the Allocation Table displayed in the Portfolio page, within the Allocation tab.

What the Portfolio Allocation Table Shows You

The Portfolio Allocation Table provides a comprehensive view of your owned stocks, organized in a clear, hierarchical structure. It includes the following columns:

  • Sector: The broad market category your investment belongs to.

  • Industry Group: A more specific industry classification within a Sector.

  • Symbol: The ticker symbol for individual stocks (e.g., AAPL).

  • Quantity: The number of shares you own for a specific stock.

  • Value: The current market value of your holdings at that level (Sector, Industry Group, or individual stock).

  • Value(%): The percentage of your total portfolio's value allocated to that Sector, Industry Group, or individual stock.

Navigating with Expand and Collapse

The table is designed for flexible viewing, allowing you to manage the level of detail you see:

  • Initial View: When you first open the table, it will display only the top-level Sectors. The Value, and Value(%), columns will display aggregated data for the entire Sector.

  • Expanding a Sector: To see the Industry Groups within a Sector, simply click the expand icon next to the Sector name. New rows will appear, indented below the Sector, showing each Industry Group. At this level, Value and Value(%) will reflect the Industry Group's aggregated data.

  • Expanding an Industry Group: To view the individual stocks within an Industry Group, click the expand icon next to the Industry Group name. New rows will appear, further indented, displaying each stock symbol, its quantity, and its specific value and percentage of your portfolio.

  • Collapsing Rows: Click the collapse icon next to a Sector or Industry Group to hide its sub-categories.

Session Persistence: The table remembers your expand/collapse state within your current session, so if you navigate away and come back, it will retain your last view.

Data Accuracy and Visuals

  • Precise Categorization: Every stock you own is accurately categorized into its correct Sector and Industry Group.

  • Up-to-date Values: All quantities and values are based on your current holdings and real-time market prices.
